Life Without Religion

A safe place to be together

Have you experienced difficulty in your life due to religious influence? Life Without Religion is an ANONYMOUS peer group including those who have left religious vocation, family, and community, and for those who are privately atheists or agnostic but are not able to be "out" to family, friends, and co-workers.

This is a group specifically created for individuals who have had, or continue to have, difficulty in their lives due to religious influence. The group meets once a month in a private setting. Due to the potentially sensitive nature of said influence, it is imperative that group membership remain anonymous. An individual is certainly welcome to acknowledge one's own involvement in this group, but never should they divulge the names or contact information of other members. Furthermore, we ask that participants be limited to those who have genuinely experienced circumstances where their own lives have been negatively affected by religion.

ASC has many opportunities for involvement. It is understood that we all come from different backgrounds and have different objectives. The core ideal of promoting science, reason and secular values remains integral to all ASC-related groups and functions. Not every person fits into every group. It is with this in mind, that the moderators of LWR may respectfully decline the participation of some people who have not shared religious trauma. We can, however, enjoy each other's company and mutual participation in another of ASC's activities. Thank you for your understanding.
